Maddens-in-Ireland
Greetings fellow travelers,
I emailed Jill with our questions:
the rooming list is made up by me/us and we can have double occupancy or twins which I think means single rooms.
The small child among us will have a cot.
We can add folks on last minute which is great news!
Any more questions, ask me!
Blessings,
Maureen

Maddens-in-Ireland
Maddens-in-IrelandHello all fellow travelers. We are now at 18- not counting Dan and family who are travelling separately. We have just added Meghan McCarthy, Christy's friend to our list. I have gotten some information from Jill. As for rooming, she will send me a blank list and I will fill it in. Most spots are double occupancy; there is allowance for twins which I assume means solo rooms. If anyone needs to jump in on this adventure last minute, I understand it will be fine. As to how we do that, I don't know. That is all the news I have for now. I hope all who need to are working on passports. More info as I learn it. Blessings, Maureen

Seats?
Hey everyone --
I don't think David and Daniel and I have seat assignments yet --haven't been able to reach Aer Lingus when I've tried. I should really get on it, so --has anyone gotten theirs?
Love to all -- Jeanne

Gathering our history
Don't you think it's time that we start gathering the little information we have about our ancestral family (a grand title if ever there was one) for our collective wisdom? I am embarrassed to say that I know so little about our grandparents and their families. I know Nanny's name was Dillon, her father was a shoemaker, but I don't know her mother's maiden name...does anyone? Or her parents' first names (was her father Martin?) We know that Wiilliamstown is where she went back to with her kids during the Depression... was Derevaud (sp?) the hamlet within Williamstown where they lived? And what about Pop's family?
I know some out there have gathered more info than this for passport searches and possibly school projects. Please share with all so we can pool our info! And congrats to those who keep building our numbers....keep it up!
love, kathleen

The TynanWoods are Coming to Ireland
Thanks to the generosity of a certain Uncle whom we all know and love, our decision has been made. We're going. That's the good news. But I don't think we'll be on the bus. We want to go for a few weeks, rent a country cottage, and try to catch up with Christina's 3,427 relatives over there. I'm hoping we can meet up with you at the start of the Bus Trek in Galway, and definitely be with you during the three days in Dublin. And that's about as far as we've gotten in terms of planning.
Meanwhile, I think we should compile a list of 'must-see films' about Ireland, so we can bone up for the trip. Here are a few suggestions:
The Snapper
The Commitments
The Van
Waking Ned Devine
Evelyn
My Left Foot
Hear My Song
The Run of the Country
The Playboys
A Man of No Importance
Circle of Friends
