It's now official: Thanks to the tireless efforts of Xtina, who may be considering a second career as a travel agent, we have secured flights and accommodations for our jaunt to the emerald isle. Here are the details:
We'll be flying into Shannon on Oct 14, and staying at a cottage in the Burren -- a national park in County Clare. We'll be there two weeks, using it as a base to explore the south of Ireland. This is where most of Xtina's 3,427 relatives live; we'll be figuring out which ones we want to hang with and which we'll try to avoid.
On October 28 we'll move up to Dublin, where we've secured an apartment (well, almost secured it -- no money has changed hands) in city centre, within a mile of the Burlington where all you guys will be staying. (It might be closer, it's hard to tell from the map.) We'll be there til Nov 4, then head back down to Shannon before flying out on the 5th. If the apartment in Dublin is big and nice enough, we'll have everyone over for a party, at least.
Thanks again to our generous uncle who made this possible, to Maureen for handling all the details for everyone (which would have driven me over the brink long ago), and to Christy for having the idea in the first place.
More specifics to come closer to the day. See y'all in Ireland.

xtina just pointed out that you guys fly into shannon on the 26th, while we're still in clare. so we all can hookup and tour galway together, before we head up to dublin.

by the time the rest of us arrive, you'll be experts on the place and probably talking with a brogue.
