A friend just returned from Ireland- her tip was to use a bank ATM machine that get euros that way. She said there was no need to exchange before getting there. Hope to hear from you soon.

Maddens-in-Ireland

Maddens-in-IrelandHello ... just a friendly reminder that we are 96 days from departure. We have 20 folks that range in age from 3 to 59. We have two triple rooms, two single rooms and 6 double rooms. I am wanting all monies to me by August 1. I have to submit it then to CIE tours. After that I won't be nagging for money. For any who have already sent, thank you!
Any questions, call me at 805 794 4755 (cell)
It is amazing to think that it will be here before we know it!!
Love,
Maureen

Happy 4th and Nanny's 112th birthday!
The 100 day mark is approaching.-- July 17 is the day I will send in the deposit monies. The day I will send in the final rooming list and the remainder of what is owed will soon follow . As soon as I know that amount, I will notify you all. Since I need to send to New Jersey, I will need the balance of what you each owe by August 1. Any requests regarding rooming can be emailed to me. We are fast approaching July 17. We have 18 folks in our group. If you want anyone else to join us, let them know now.
blessings,
maureen

More on the TynanWood contingent....

It's now official: Thanks to the tireless efforts of Xtina, who may be considering a second career as a travel agent, we have secured flights and accommodations for our jaunt to the emerald isle. Here are the details:

We'll be flying into Shannon on Oct 14, and staying at a cottage in the Burren -- a national park in County Clare. We'll be there two weeks, using it as a base to explore the south of Ireland. This is where most of Xtina's 3,427 relatives live; we'll be figuring out which ones we want to hang with and which we'll try to avoid.

On October 28 we'll move up to Dublin, where we've secured an apartment (well, almost secured it -- no money has changed hands) in city centre, within a mile of the Burlington where all you guys will be staying. (It might be closer, it's hard to tell from the map.) We'll be there til Nov 4, then head back down to Shannon before flying out on the 5th. If the apartment in Dublin is big and nice enough, we'll have everyone over for a party, at least.

Thanks again to our generous uncle who made this possible, to Maureen for handling all the details for everyone (which would have driven me over the brink long ago), and to Christy for having the idea in the first place.

More specifics to come closer to the day. See y'all in Ireland.
